Don't let the people make you think that just because you're young you're useless
You know it's not naive to think that you can change the things around and that no man is an island

For I'd rather be a pebble in an ocean vast and drown alone
Than make no sound

...why am I in such a hurry to grow up? You know life is like a train.
It's bearing down on you, and guess what? It's gonna hit you!
So you can either start running when it's far off in the distance, or you can
pull up a chair, crack open a beer, and just watch it come!

Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world
Hi! The name's Rachel. 18. I graduated from MSM on June 1st, 2008. I am a freshman at SUNY Fredonia. I'm 5'1 and a three quarters" but man can I make a lot of noise. I'm painfully shy...but I eventually open up. I don't talk a lot except when I'm around my closest (and I mean CLOSEST) friends. I went to an all girl Catholic school (Awesome right? HA, not always). If you assume that just because I go to an all girl school I'm this total weakling well I have bad news for you...you're wrong. If anything, that school has made me stronger than the person I was when I walked through those doors for the very first time when I was 13 and a freshman. I really think my all-time favorite episode of Lost is "Greatest Hits" (AKA the last episode of Season 3 before the season finale...the one about Charlie) but I'll re-watch the other two seasons just to be sure of that ;]
I am the biggest hopeless romantic anyone will ever meet. I can also be crazy cynical too.
I'm sick of watching everyone around me live the life that I should be living, and the life that I deserve to live.
I read the Twilight series and I am stuck between Edward and Jacob. I just can't choose who is better! (Although Edward can be pretty corny, that I can admit)
I love music. It's pretty much my life. That and movies.

•Music: Relient K; Death Cab for Cutie; The Postal Service; The Shins; Coldplay; Regina Spektor; Josh Groban; The All-American Rejects; Keane; Snow Patrol; Yellowcard; Damien Rice; Musicals; Sufjan Stevens; Something Corporate; Jack's Mannequin; John Mayer; The Beatles; Simon & Garfunkel; Hellogoodbye; Franz Ferdinand; Joshua Radin; anything played on Grey's Anatomy and many many more.

•Movies: I adore romantic, deep, amazing, funny indie movies like Amelie; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; The Science of Sleep; Everything Is Illuminated; Pride and Prejudice(not indie..but still); Marie Antoinette; Moulin Rouge!; Little Miss Sunshine; Shakespeare In Love; Closer; Starlight; Juno; Brokeback Mountain and of course "normal" movies like Peter Pan (the original animated one); High Fidelity; Ocean's 11; The Breakfast Club; Meet Joe Black; The Princess Bride; 50 First Dates; Rebel Without a Cause; Sabrina; Roman Holiday; Gosford Park; Forrest Gump; Drive Me Crazy; 10 Things I Hate About You and many many many more.

(Ugly Betty); Izzie/George (Grey's Anatomy); Derek/Meredith (Grey's Anatomy); Izzie/Denny (Grey's Anatomy); Marshall/Lily (How I Met Your Mother); Rory/Logan (Gilmore Girls); Lorelai/Luke (Gilmore Girls); Hermione/Ron (Harry Potter); Ned/Chuck (Pushing Daisies); Dan/ME (Gossip Girl).

•Crushes (in no particular order): Jake Gyllenhaal; Jason Schwartzman; Ryan Gosling; TR Knight; Dimitri from Anastasia (STFU he's amazing, as are most cartoon men); Gael Garcia Bernal (mainly as Stephane from The Science of Sleep); Matthew Thiessen; Jason Pominville (Buffalo Sabres #29); Derek Roy (Buffalo Sabres #9); John Krasinski/Jim Halpert; Oswald from Amazing Race: All Stars (too bad he's gay); Matthew Gray Gubler; Christopher Gorham; Penn Badgley; Adam Goldberg; Lee Pace; Chace Crawford; Jensen Ackles; Jared Padalecki; Ewan McGregor; Joseph Fiennes; Matthew Macfadyen; John Cusack; Patrick Dempsey; Matthew Fox; Zach Braff...

•Hate is a Strong Word (But I Really, Really, Really Don't Like...): Mean people; wanting what I can't have (which, sadly, seems to be the kind of person that I am); people not getting what they deserve; people getting great things they don't deserve; math; awkwardness; goodbyes; being angry; a great movie that has a stupid ending; bad drivers (who scare the hell out of me when they cut me off or do something stupid like that); people who don't signal properly on the road; people who steal my stuff; bitches; people who make me feel like shit for no reason at all other than their own sick and twisted enjoyment; FAKES; history of jazz with dr. linda phillips; economics; waking up early.

Dry humor is my preference. I heart Monty Python anything and I saw Spamalot on May 2nd 2007 and it was fantasmical. I can now die happy. I love the theater and seeing plays too...durr. I saw Craig Ferguson (one of my comedy favorites/heroes) on October 4th, 2007 and it was pure, comedic bliss. I saw another comedic hero on April 4th, 2008...Stephen Colbert! I almost died laughing in my seat. I also saw my OTHER comedic hero JON STEWART on November 15th, 2008. Even though I may be mean every (very rare) once in awhile, I am a total and complete sweetheart =] just ask anyone. I am a complete nerd. I love fellow nerds (nerdy boys are the best..Yay The Big Bang Theory!!), I'm pretty boy obsessed (as you saw by my mile long list of celebrity crushes) what can I say? I'm a sucker for a sweet personality and a cute smile =] I don't have much else to say right now. I welcome new LJ friends and I'm a great listener =]
